Want to be an elected official? Filing week arrives for Snoqualmie offices

With filing week arriving this week, the Valley has a number of elected positions up for grabs. Candidate filing opens 8:30 a.m. Monday, June 6, and closes at 4:30 p.m. Friday, June 10. Interested persons may file in person, by mail or electronically.

The city of Snoqualmie has three city council seats open for election. The terms for council positions 2, 4 and 6 currently held by Jeff MacNichols, Kingston Wall and Charles Peterson will expire on December 31, 2011.

In Carnation, council positions 1, 3 and 5 are up, held by Fred Bereswill, Lee Grumman and Stuart Lisk.

In North Bend, open positions include the mayorship, held by Ken Hearing, and council positions 1, 3, 5, 6 and 7, held by Jonathan Rosen, Dee Williamson, David Cook, Jeanne Petterson and Chris Garcia.

In the Snoqualmie Valley School District, Caroline Loudenback is up for election in district 2, Craig Husa in district 3 and Dan Popp in district 5.
