In two large U-pick patches, children searched for their own great pumpkins, and struggled to carry future jack-o’-lanterns to the family cart.

Parents snapped photos of tykes losing themselves in the hay maze and befriending Bella the farm dog. Chickens and cows rounded out the farm animal population, and growers Debbie and Rob Arenth reported that talking to the animals is a favorite pastime of repeat visitors.

Strolls under the “gourdwalk,” scarecrow making, and weekend hay rides are also big draws, along with shopping for wacky gourds, fresh fall fruits and vegetables from the chemical-free farm.
