Darrell Eugene Gusé
Darrell Eugene Gusé of North Bend, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on May 31, 2009 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 79.Born on July 26, 1929 in East St. Louis, Illinois, Darrell was a Korean War veteran and served three years in the U.S. Coast Guard. He worked for Armour Food Company for more than 30 years as a lamb buyer, salesman and head of the Lamb Division. He was later a salesman for Superior Farms. A North Bend resident of 18 years, Darrell was a dedicated congregation member and volunteer at Mount Si Lutheran Church.He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn Gusé of North Bend. Other survivors include his daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Harold Johnston of Canyon Lake, Texas; son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Denise Gusé of Sacramento, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law Karen and Walter Burton of Lacey; and daughter Sheila Browne of Sacramento.In addition, he is survived by grandchildren Jeff, Greg, Jerry and Jamie Johnston;all of Texas; Brett and Lynsi Burton of Lacey, WA; Amber Browne, Miles and Rebecca Zollner, all of Sacramento, CA; and step-grandchildren Miles and Rebecca Zollner, Sacramento,Calif. A service will celebrate Darrell’s life at 11 a.m. on June 13 at Mount Si Lutheran Church, followed by a luncheon at the church. The family requests memorials to the Mount Si Lutheran Church general fund at P.O. Box 487, North Bend, WA, 98045.
