David Allen Roberts
David Allen Roberts was unexpectedly called home on May 9, 2009. David was born to Dean and Dorothy Roberts on September 25, 1950, in Warren, PA. He was raised in Fairbanks, AK by his mother and step-father Roman “Wit” Witkowski. During the devastating 1967 flood, Dave, helped to rescue people and deliver supplies during the disaster. In the U.S. Army, David earned the rank of Sergeant along with the National Defense Service Medal and sharp shooter badge. In 1983, Dave moved to Snoqualmie, WA and married his best friend and love, Kathleen in 1989. They returned to Fairbanks, where Dave ran Wit’s Welding, became a foster parent to numerous teens and the proud father of Kristen and Sam Roberts. Dave and Kathleen also raised their nieces Susie and Charlotte Geiermann. In 1993, David received the State of Alaska Governor’s Commendation for saving a woman and infant from a burning building. In 1998, the family moved back to Snoqualmie, WA. Dave worked in facilities at Microsoft before becoming Facilities Manager of the Pacific Science Center. David’s interests included Seattle sports, cars, history, building, and the Catholic Church. David is survived by his wife Kathleen, and their children Kristen and Samuel Roberts. He is also survived by his nieces Susie and Charlotte Geiermann, his foster sons Steve Costa, Rodney Anderson and Kiely Koeppen, Step-Mother Virginia Roberts, brothers Bruce, Ken and Kelvin Roberts, sisters Juanita Neilson, Pat Zuend and Marie Lindsey, and many grandchildren, in-laws, nieces, nephews and Millie. Services will be held at St. Louise Parish in Bellevue, WA: May 13th: 4:00 – 5:30 pm Visitation, 5:30 – 7:00 pm Sharing followed by a Rosary. May 14th: 9:00 a.m. Funeral Mass with reception following. Donations may be made to St. Louise Catholic School Building Fund: www.stlouiseschool.org/capitalcampaign.
