Jack Lewis Posey

Jack was born in Tillamook Oregon to Lewis and Edna Posey and died at home in North Bend, Washington, with his wife at his side. His family moved from Tillamook when he was 7 in 1936. They came to the Valley because the mill in Tillamook closed and Weyerhaeuser offered them jobs. So they all moved up here, brothers and sisters and all. Jack graduated from Snoqualmie High School in 1947, joined the Navy in 1948 and served until February 1952. He married Sharon Miller on July 30, 1951. They had two sons, Roger and Rick.Jack worked at the Ford garage, logged, worked at the Chevron station in North Bend for 17 years and his last job was with Weyerhaeuser as the dry kiln operator.He loved the trees and for fun he hand dug stumps, built two boats and motorcycled. He took his family by boat into the San Juan Islands, crossed the Georgia Straits and through the Canadian Islands. He snowmobiled, trailered the West Coast, and hiked many trails, all with his wife Sharon.He is survived by his wife, Sharon; son, Roger and wife, Sharla; son, Rick and wife, Vickie; 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren plus his brother Jim and wife, Ruth. Services will be held at the Tahoma National Cemetery on Friday, August 21, 2009 at 10:30 a.m.
