On the morning of December 10, 2021, Joan Young passed away at the age of 76.

Joan was born and raised in Sheridan, Wyoming to John and Joy Carter. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a BSN. She worked at Virginia Mason Hospital and as a home health nurse before retiring. She also served as a commissioner on the board of the local health district, which built and opened a local hospital during her twenty years of service.

She is survived by her husband, 3 children and 2 grandchildren.
