Longtime Snoqualmie Valley resident and Fall City Elementary School Teacher
Born in 1933 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Joelle grew up appreciating the world around her, particularly, the world of science.
An avid reader, she studied everything, earned a scholarship to the University of Iowa and graduated Phi Beta Kappa in June of 1955.
Joelle met Milton (Milt) Keizer, at the University of Iowa in 1952 and the two were married in 1954. The couple would have four children and eventually settle in 1969 on the banks of the Tolt River in Carnation, WA. During her twenty-nine years as an educator, Joelle taught hundreds of students at Fall City Elementary. Also, she spent a few summers taking classes at the University of Washington and graduated with her master’s degree in education.
In 1991, Joelle and Milt (d. 2019) moved to Fall City, WA and eventually retired to enjoy traveling and visiting with friends and family across the US. Joelle always had a positive outlook on life and was a beacon for others to follow. She passed away on Friday, August 2nd, 2024. She is survived by her four children, Colin, Robin, Lance and Wendy. She was also blessed with four Grandchildren and five Great-Grandchildren.
A Memorial will be held at Miller’s on Tolt Ave in Carnation on Sunday, October 6th from 1pm—4pm
