Joy (Stromberg) Benson, 93, formerly of North Bend, WA, died June 7 in Spokane. She was born in Seattle and attended Highland Grade School and Overlake High School in Bellevue.

She met Lenard Benson in grade school and married in 1954 at Highland Covenant Church. They celebrated their 65th anniversary in June 2019.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lenard, her son Carl, and her brother Rudy Stromberg. She is survived by daughters Kerri Lunstroth of Newman Lake and Sally (Tab) Terrett of North Bend, four grandchildren and her sister Lorrine Olson of Tri-Cities.

A service at Medical Lake Veterans Cemetery will be on Thursday, July 14 at 1 p.m. Also a memorial service for both Lenard and Joy Benson will be held Sunday, July 17 at 2 p.m. at their home church Mount Si Lutheran in North Bend.
