Kathryn “Kathy” Fay Marty
Kathryn “Kathy” Fay Marty, born June 23, 1952 in Kirkland, WA to Arthur and Janice Ducken, departed this life October 17, 2016 in Snohomish, WA. She was 64.
Kathy enjoyed crafting with and loving on her grandchildren, cheering on the Seattle Seahawks, Washington Huskies and Dale Earnhardt, Jr., baking, decorating, and spending time with her family. Kathy spent many years making friends and homemade soup as co-owner with her husband at the Time Out Sports Bar in Kirkland and The Cozy Roadhouse in Clinton, and then co-managing Western Auction Co. and Hotties Espresso. Kathy loved helping people and making them happy. For many years she volunteered her time with the Make a Wish Foundation, helping grant wishes to sick children.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Larry, son Blake Marty (Corrina) of Carnation, daughter Robin Baldwin (Bob) of Snoqualmie, her mother Janice Ducken, siblings Steve Ducken of Carnation, Leroy Ducken (Ella) of Sandpoint, ID, Shelly Anton (Nick) of Maple Valley, Rob Ducken (Tracy) of Carnation, grandchildren Shantel, Arthur, Lily, Elle, and Blakely.
Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016, from 12-4pm at Purdy & Kerr with Dawson Funeral Home, 409 W. Main St., Monroe, 360-794-7049. A graveside service will be held the next day, Saturday, October 29, at 1pm at Carnation Cemetery, 5187 Carnation Duvall Rd. NE, Carnation.
Immediately following the service, friends are encouraged to join the family for a celebration of life at the Monroe Swiss Hall, 18500 Tualco Rd., Monroe.
A remembrance of Kathy will be at 3 pm. Memorials in Kathy’s name may be made to The Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer Research.
