Marie Cora (Gould) Wolslegel was born in Seattle, Washington on December 26, 1940, to Elbert Raymond and Ethel Eveline (Beieler) Gould. Marie passed away on December 1, 2022 from organ failure after an emergency surgery at Centralia Providence Hospital. Marie grew up in Carnation, Washington, graduating from Tolt High School in 1959.
She attended Washington State University and worked at several jobs before the birth of her sons, Donald Westley Kerlee and Michael Raymond Kerlee. Marie joined Puget Sound Power and Light Co. in Customer Service at the company’s Bellevue headquarters in the 1970’s, eventually transferring to the Olympia Customer Service Department, retiring in 1998 as Service Center Administrator. She later enjoyed working in curriculum for several years at Centralia High School. Marie and her husband, Washington State Patrolman, Dee Merrill Wolslegel made their retirement home on the banks of the Cowlitz River in Green Water Estates near Toledo, Washington, later moving to Stillwaters Estates in Centralia.
Marie was predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Wesley William Kerlee, from whom she was divorced; her second husband, Dee Wolslegel; and her brother-in-law, John Paul Qualls. Marie is survived by her son Don Kerlee (Kathy); son Mike Kerlee; grandson Brent Michael Kerlee (Leticia); granddaughter Kimberly Lee Kerlee (Michael Ritchie); great granddaughters Paisley Dawn Kerlee and Aspyn Lee Kerlee; her sister Marjorie Carol (Gould) Qualls and many more nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a memorial service for Marie on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Sticklin Funeral Home, 1437 S. Gold St., Centralia, WA 98531.
Interment will take place at the Carnation Cemetery on January 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. when the public is also invited to attend.
