Roland Melvin Bricker

Roland Bricker, of Bullhead City, Arizona and Fall City, Washington passed away at Western Arizona Regional Medical Center in Bullhead City, Arizona on Friday April 22, 2011 following a brief illness. He was 81 years old. Roland was born February 13, 1930 in Cantril, Iowa, the son of Jack & Mildred Bricker. He was raised in Iowa and Wyoming and moved to the Snoqualmie Valley in 1941, and to Fall City in 1943. He had two sisters and three brothers. He married the love of his life, Shirley Gunderson on May 14, 1952. Together they had two sons and one daughter. Roland served in the US Navy in 1949 and 1950 and was recalled to active duty in 1951 during the Korean war. He was discharged in August of 1953. He worked for several years around the valley as a meat cutter, and then began work at the Boeing Company in 1957. He worked in the Seattle area and was transferred to California on two occasions. He retired from Boeing as an FAA Inspector in 1992. After retirement He enjoyed traveling and lived in Bullhead City, Arizona during the winters, and in Fall City during the summers. Roland was preceded in death by his wife Shirley of 58 years, and his son Randy. Roland is survived by his son Donnie and his wife Julia, and his daughter Betty and her husband Chris, all of Fall City, WA., seven grandchildren, Ari, Bradley, Rachel, Jamin, Erin, Gary, and Christopher, three great grandchildren Blake, Toby and Lucy, and numerous nieces, nephews and beloved friends. At his request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. A gathering of family and friends will occur at a future date.
