Wilbert S. Boyle, Jr.

Wilbert S. (Bill) Boyle, Jr. of North Pole, Alaska, passed away on May 22, 2009, at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. Bill was born on March 24, 1939 at Snoqualmie Falls to Bill and Jeanne Boyle (Price), and grew up in Riverside, attending Snoqualmie Falls Grade School, and Mount Si High School. He was in the Army from 1956 to 1960, spending time in Japan during his tour of duty. After living in the Snoqualmie Valley for many years, Bill moved to Alaska in the early 1970s. He was a lifelong mechanic, working on the trans-Alaska oil pipeline and for Usibelli Coal Mine in Healy and was affiliated with the Operating Engineers and Teamsters unions.Bill is survived by his partner Alice Murphy and her family, a daughter Michelle Solomon of North Bend, sons Mike of North Bend, and Tony (Terry) of Fall City, brother Larry (Kay), and sister Lynne Simpson (Bud), nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a niece and five nephews.A celebration of Bill’s life was held on June 7, 2009 in North Pole, Alaska.
