Community worked to help children

Letter to the Editor

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the people and

businesses in our community that helped us with our installation of our

second phase of playground equipment for our school. Without their help

and dedication, we would not have been able to make this happen.

First of all, we would like to thank Barbara Beattie, Ellen Aldrich

and Diane Gmeiner for planning and organizing the installation. This was

not an easy task as our equipment did not arrive when scheduled, so

everything had to be organized twice.

A huge thanks also to the people and businesses that provided food

and drinks for the installers that day. The businesses that so graciously

provided donations were Frankie’s Pizza, Blimpie’s, Talking Rain,

Starbucks Coffee, Safeway, and McDonalds. Parents that donated were Ann

Hamerly, Mary Norton, Shawn Hamerly, Stephanie Robinson, Ellen

Aldrich, Letty Caldwell, Rhonda Huges, Lisa Fowler, Pam Sedlak, Rose Wildes

and Julie Gardunia.

Many, many thanks also to the hard-working people who helped

install our equipment. Those people were Rick and Shawn Hamerly,

Bob and Ellen Aldrich, Mickey and Lisa Fowler, Bill Robinson, Jim and

Julie Gardunia, Darin Graves, Alan Beattie, Jim Garris, Jan Gifford, Paul and

Lisa Sackett and District Maintenance. They did a great job.

For the second year in a row, Lonestar donated concrete for

our project. We really appreciate Lonestar’s willingness to donate to

our school and community.

It is wonderful to see the parents, local businesses, our school

district and community come together for the children of our community.
