What’s the school bond proposition on Feb. 6 all about? While there has been a great deal of discussion in our community during the last 10 months about growth in student enrollment, overcrowding in our schools and the need to construct new schools, there are some who may not yet be fully aware of the specifics surrounding the school bond proposition that will be placed before voters next month.

On Feb. 6, voters residing in the Snoqualmie Valley School District will be making a decision that will influence the future of our schools in a most significant way. The outcome of the election will have far-reaching implications for the students who currently attend our schools and for those who will attend in the years to come.

The bond proposition before the voters asks for $209.2 million. Why is this needed?

* The February bond proposition is the result of a comprehensive study of the issues by a 23-member facilities task force, which reached unanimous consent that new schools are needed – and needed soon.
