The Snoqualmie Valley Record just published a letter from North Bend Mayor Ken Hearing in favor of a pending school bond. I’m glad to hear he is very concerned about the kids in the community, but I do wish he would show the same concern for all the senior citizens living in assisted living facilities in the community, as well.
Every since the terrible wind storm last winter, I’ve been trying to get Mayor Hearing and his city administrator to propose and pass a city ordinance that would require all assisted living facilities in North Bend to have generators in place for back-up electricity, just like the hospital and nursing homes have.
However, all I’ve gotten so far is a lot of buck passing and stone-walling from both of them. In the meantime, the safety and welfare of many senior citizens is at risk, including my mother-in-law’s.
