We are writing to express our thanks to those who provided aid
and comfort to our family during the sudden loss of our husband and
father, Donald Whitney Sr.
Among those we would like to thank is the King County 911
operator, who provided guidance while we awaited the arrival of assistance,
and the Eastside Fire & Rescue team and King County Dep. James V.
Young, who appeared within minutes to assist us. Many thanks also, to those
who provided food, flowers, cards and spiritual help during such a sad time.
Don loved his country and was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
His service at the Tahoma National Cemetery was made so memorable by
the efforts of Mount Si Post No. 9476 VFW, Snoqualmie, Wash.; the
American Legion Honor Guard, Post No. 239, Bellevue, Wash. and the
U.S. Navy representatives who folded and presented the flag. Many thanks to all.
We are grateful to Flintofts Issaquah Funeral Home,
particularly Allen Flintoft, for providing both
compassion and guidance at such a difficult time. The load was made
lighter knowing that we were in such good hands.
Don requested any remembrances be directed to the Mount Si
Senior Center in North Bend, Wash.
