Thank you to the Riverview School District for inviting us to
the two-day planning session, May 5 and 6. We would like to thank you for
taking the initiative to pull together the community members, teachers,
staff, parents and administrators of our district for the April 1 forum and
this planning session.
There were 28 of us at the planning session who worked together
for two days and drafted a vision and mission statement for the school
district. It will be reviewed by the superintendent then presented to the
school board.
The one thing that amazed us was how much we all agreed on the
way we saw our schools. We saw our schools, as a school where
children, teachers and adults, being parents, friends, family members and
community members, working together and meeting all their educational needs,
in a bright, cheerful and safe environment.
We are not finished, however. We were to set goals at this planning
session and ran out of time. We are coming back together on May 31 to
accomplish that task. We hope our collaborated efforts make a difference
to our school district and to our community, and most of all, to our kids.
Thank you for caring about us and including us in your journey.
