Thank you to Snoqualmie Mayor Matt Larson for signing onto the mayor’s climate protection agreement. I would like to raise the possibility that the city encourage any open space in the Snoqualmie Ridge development to be dedicated to the placement of wind turbines for energy production.

Snoqualmie Ridge (previously known as Alice Lake Plateau) is geographically located in a prime area for possible wind energy production and its proximity to the major power grid is also an advantage. I had raised these issues during the Snoqualmie Ridge annexation process, but perhaps now this may sound like a more attractive way to offset the major environmental impacts this development has had with a positive way to solve increased energy consumption in the area.

I would also like to urge City Council and Planning Commission members to retain Element 8 of the Snoqualmie Comprehensive Plan.
