Clubs will be swinging again this year to put an end to muscular dystrophy, during the fifth annual Edgar Martinez Golf Classic, Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Snoqualmie Ridge TPC.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) has partnered with the famed Seattle Mariners player five years ago in hopes of raising critical research funds to help find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Last year’s Golf Classic raised $145,000.
Registration is at 10 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at noon. The event includes a live and silent auction at a VIP Dinner and Gala, provided by the Ruth’s Chris Steak House, following the golf tournament. All proceeds will go towards muscular dystrophy research.
MDA is a nonprofit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases by funding worldwide research.
MDA maintains clinics for area adults and children affected by neuromuscular diseases at Children’s Hospital Medical Center, and the University of Washington Medical Center. Edgar Martinez Golf Classic is Saturday at TPC
