Today, Falls Little League’s beautiful Aldarra Field draws dozens of families for afternoons of baseball amid green, scenic surroundings.

The proud ballfield began humbly, for the love of the game, children and community.

In 1942, during a time that the world was at war, Bill Boeing, Sr., and his wife Bertha took up residence in the small town of Fall City, purchasing a stunning house from master shipbuilder John F. Duthie. Boeing went on to buy some 1,000 acres along the Redmond-Fall City Road. His farm manager, Dutch Abbott, at one point managed 500 head of cattle on the Boeing land, which was later renamed Aldarra Farm. 

During the 1960s, Dutch Abbott’s son, Dave “Bud” Abbott, gained permission to clear land for a baseball field. His son wanted to play baseball and needed somewhere to play.

Bud’s friend John Querro drove a Bobcat bulldozer across Highway 202 to the small parcel at the intersection of 308th Avenue Southeast and the Redmond-Fall City Road. It took weeks of hard work; after clearing a spot for the field, volunteers put down old telephone poles for the back stop, shaping a place to play ball. Aldarra Farm Field was created.  

Throughout the years, the ball park has grown and been enhanced. Little League began using and maintaining the fields as early as the 1970s, leasing the land from Mrs. Boeing for $1 a year.  Around 2003, a second field was added.  The name was shortened to Aldarra Field.

Today, many locals recall playing at these fields during their youth. The Falls Little League thanks Bud Abbott for his vision of creating a great ball park for the children in the community, and to the generosity of the Boeing Family. 

Falls Little League is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that combines the Snoqualmie Valley communities to provide a safe, fun, positive, educational and fulfilling experience for boys and girls playing baseball and softball.
