The final week of the regular season for the Mount Si High School girls’ softball team will likely go down as one of the more memorable weeks of this program’s history. It started out with a bit of history for a well-liked coach, then added a flair for the dramatic in more ways than one.
Mount Si opened last week with a blowout win last Tuesday, April 29 over Sammamish, 12-1, a win which was the 100th in Wildcat coach Larry White’s seven-year tenure with the program. In that time, White has taken his teams to postseason five times, including this year, and has built the program into one of the most respected in all of 3A high school softball in Washington.
