The Snoqualmie Railroad Days Run returns with action for all, from top athletes to children and families.

The run, set for Saturday, Aug. 21, includes 10-kilometer and 5-kilometer runs, as well as a 1-k children’s race. All races start and finish in downtown Snoqualmie.

The race is in its third year running and once again has been selected to host the 2010 Pacific Northwest Track & Field 10k championship. That means top men and women athletes from Washington and beyond will compete for a prize purse of nearly $2,000.

The adult races begin at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, in downtown Snoqualmie.

The chip-timed, USATF-certified courses are flat and fast. Runners will cross the Snoqualmie River while enjoying stunning views of Mount Si and the Meadowbrook Farm before finishing to the cheers of those gathering for the Snoqualmie Railroad Days Parade. Walkers are welcome but must finish by 10:45 a.m. Dogs are not permitted on the course.

A non-timed, non-competitive event intended for children 11 and younger, the children’s 1-k race begins promptly at 9 a.m. and parents are encouraged to run with their children.

All 1k finishers receive a medal. Pre-registered children receive a free T-shirt.
