“I think every time we made a little run they had an answer and mostly it was Haskins, number 33,” said Mount Si coach Garrick Phillips.

Despite the talent Haskins showed in the game, Phillips is not sure yet if fans will see him playing major college basketball two years from now.

The game opened with Ratcliffe scoring five straight points to lift Mount Si to a 9-2 lead. The Kangs, behind Haskins and a tip-in by senior Brandon Pugh off a missed free throw, rallied to tie the game at 9-9. The Wildcats regained the lead but Haskins’ with a first dunk on a fast break, allowed the Kangs to end the first quarter tied at 13-13 with Mount Si.

Lake Washington took its first lead of the game at 16-15 early in the second quarter when Staudacher hit a three-pointer. The Kangs held the lead for a while but then the teams changed leads four times midway through the quarter before the Kangs finally took control.
