Mount Si’s girls golfers claimed third place in their conference last week at the KingCo Medalist Tournament, Monday, May 8 at Snohomish Golf Course, then followed up Tuesday by placing third in the District 2 State Qualifier tournament, and qualifying two ladies for the state tournament.
Kat Hodgson, Tori Berger, Annie Burns, Auni Edwards, Rachel Warnke, Emma Fougere, and Peyton Smothers all competed in the KingCo Medalist Tournament May 8. Hodgson, Berger, Burns, and Edwards all scored well enough to qualify for District 2 State Qualifier the following day.
Hodgson led the Mount Si team, shooting an 83 both days of the tournaments for an overall score of 166 and a fifth-place finish. Tori Berger finished the tournament 13th overall with a 90 on the first day and a 99 the second, to earn a spot on the state-bound team as second alternate.
Edwards scored 100, then 96 for a final score of 196 and a 17th-place finish. Burns shot 96 and 108 for a 204 final, and 22nd place.
The State tournament will be May 23 and 24 at Meadowwood Golf Course in Spokane.
Hodgson has also been named to the All-KingCo First Team; Edwards earned an honorable mention.
