Mount Si football heads into quarterfinals of state playoffs

Mount Si’s football team traveled to Pasco and returned home with a victory in the 4A state playoffs.

With a 46-21 triumph over Chiawana (9-2, seeded sixth) on Nov. 16 at Edgar Brown Stadium, the Wildcats advance to play in the quarterfinals at Lake Stevens (11-0, seeded third) at 1 p.m. on Nov. 23.

Mount Si (9-2, seeded 11th) rolled with quarterback Clay Millen at the helm as he unleashed six touchdown passes and fired away for a 33-38 day and 500 yards in the air.

Millen connected with Brayden Holt for four scores (16, 29, 14 and 30 yards) along with a 12-yard touchdown strike to Kevin Corder and a 10-yard touchdown pass to Cole Norah. Holt snagged 11 passes for 180 yards and Andrew Mostofi hauled in six catches for 109 yards.

Colby Ramsey also had a 28-yard field goal to go along with a Wildcat safety.
