Mount Si announces sports camps
Valley Little League 10-to-12-year-old teams squared off against the best of the Eastside at the recent Coast Invitational in Snoqualmie.
Football youth camp nears
Snoqualmie resident Sean Sundwall, whose efforts to make the U.S. Olympic running team were highlighted in the pages of the Valley Record last fall, made news in the regional running scene recently, winning a big road race in historic fashion.
Sundwall won the Newport Marathon in Oregon on Saturday, May 31 with a time of 2:22:47, breaking the old course record by approximately four minutes.
Mount Si tennis program
The Mount Si High School boys’ basketball summer league team struggled last week, losing both of their games in league play in Seattle.
Even though the season has ended, the Mount Si softball program has been busy off the field.
The Mount Si High School football team tuned up for what is expected to be a strong 2008 campaign last Saturday night, as they hosted the Bothell Cougars in the annual Wildcat spring scrimmage at Mount Si High School. Bothell, who was the state 4A runner-up last fall, is coached by former Mount Si assistant Tom Bainter.
It was a reunion of sorts last Monday, June 2, as Wildcat softball stars past and present met and participated with a team of local college and high school players, during an international exhibition game against a college team from Taiwan.
The Mount Si High School baseball program recently announced its postseason honors for the 2008 season.
A coed four on four tournament, benefiting the Mount Si High School volleyball team, is in the works and planned for fall.
