It was a tough week for the Mount Si High School baseball team, as they opened league play with two losses.
The Mount Si High School boys’ track team defeated Interlake and Sammamish Thursday, March 20, in the first meet of the year by a final score of 83-48-47.
The Mount Si High School girls’ golf team fell to Newport last week in a practice match, 262 to 267. Katie Somers took medalist honors with an even par 36.
The Chief Kanim Middle School Hawks seventh- and eighth-grade varsity basketball teams traveled to Snoqualmie Middle School last week, where they picked up two tough wins against the Eagles. The seventh-grade team made key free throws and controlled the boards to earn a 45-38 victory. The eighth-grade team ran their offense effectively and controlled the boards to earn a 43-23 win.
The Mount Si High School softball team looked to break out once again last week, as they made up a previously rained-out contest with Liberty. For the second straight game, the bats woke up late, and turned a potentially tough loss into a big, confidence-building win.
