Riders, horses soar at Evergreen Classic | Slideshow

Top equestrian riders competed, and some won big, at the Evergreen Classic benefit horse show, held Aug 8 to 12 in Carnation. Megan Jordan, on Lolita, owned by Margie Grass, won the $25,000 Grand Prix, out of 21 riders. Shelley Campf, on Greyscale, owned by Maggie Dennis, won the $10,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby. Go Shorty, ridden by Cheryl Keith for owner Catherine Rankin, took the blue ribbon in the $2,500 Bunny Coffin National Hunter Derby.

The show is hosted by the Washington State Hunter Jumper Association as a benefit for Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center, which helps children and adults with disabilities through equine-assisted therapy.
