Junior-varsity boys

drop Totems

The Mount Si junior-varsity boys’ basketball team defeated the Sammamish Totems last week 71-59.

Top scorers were Hank Kennedy with 22 and Luke Landdeck with 20. Kennedy had 21 rebounds, followed with eight each from Jarrod Wiegardt and John Karlen. Jordan Proudfoot piled up six assists, and Wiegardt and Eric Meuli had four assists each.


‘Cats blast Liberty

Hank Kennedy led the Mount Si Wildcat junior-varsity boys’ basketball team to a huge win last week with 26 points, giving the ‘Cats an 88-38 victory over

Liberty.


Luke Landdeck also had a hot hand with 19 points. Kennedy finished with nine rebounds and Landdeck had six.

John Karlen and Jarrod Wiegardt had five boards each. John Karlen also had four assists and Derek Donah added three.

Kennedy topped the steal category with five thefts. With five games left in the season, the Wildcat JV boys’ basketball league record is 7-1 and overall is 9-3.


Liberty tops Wildcats

The Liberty Patriots girls’ varsity basketball team outscored Mount Si 17-4 in the fourth quarter to pull away with a 57-49 victory.

Nicci Landdeck had 16 points for Mount Si and freshman Rachel Travis added 12. Others scoring for the ‘Cats were Angela Jones with two, Kristen Travis with 11, Lizzie Finnegan with five and Whitney Beyerlin with three.


Wildcat grapplers pound Saints

Taking advantage of five forfeits and seven pins, the Wildcat varsity wrestling team cruised to an easy 3A dual-meet victory over the Interlake Saints last week, 75-6.

At 189 pounds, Trevor Moore (MS) pinned Zach Bailey (I), 3:12; 215 pounds, Dylan Seubert (MS) pinned Kien Tang (I), 2:42; 275 pounds, Cory Andersen (MS) pinned Wes Potter (I), 2:11; 103 pounds, Jason Rothgeb (MS) won by forfeit; 112 pounds, Alex Haas (MS) won by forfeit; 119 pounds, Jordan Prior (MS) won by forfeit; 125 pounds, Jae Mandanas (MS) won by forfeit; 130 pounds, Jon Emerson (MS) won by forfeit; 135 pounds, Nick Martindale (MS) pinned Lius Tadman (I), 5:15; 140 pounds, Chris Ippolito (MS) defeated Riley Moring (I), 7-0; 145 pounds, Eddie Roberts (MS) pinned Brandon Eng (I), 3:31; 152 pounds, Kyle Jacobson (MS) pinned Ryan Yuen (I), 2:55; 160 pounds, Tyler Austin (MS) pinned J.T. Cheerleading team begins competition

Mount Si recently took its first leap into cheer competitions by taking a four-person stunt team into the Oak Harbor Spirit Fest recently.

The team, comprised of seniors, Jada Duthu, Gentry Fowler, Brooke Nicholson and sophomore Kristin Heath, performed a flawless one-minute routine that provided the squad with a fourth-place finish in the stunt division.

With the first competition under their belts, the Mount Si cheerleaders are poised to take two stunt squads into the UCA Competition at Juanita High School on Saturday, Jan. 26.
