Third time’s a charm for 10U Crush

The 10U Snoqualmie Crush baseball team cruised into the finals and won the Tiger’s Summer Blast Tournament played at Big Finn Hill Park in Kirkland on the July 17 weekend.

The tournament began Saturday with two Crush wins by mercy rule against the Redmond Lightning and the Kirkland Boyz. Two wins in, the Crush faced off against the Northwest Warriors from Mukilteo in a semi-final game Sunday morning. A hard fought, defensive game led to another Crush victory, by a 3-2 score, landing them in the tournament final Sunday afternoon. Again the Crush proved too much for the Kirkland Boyz to handle. The Crush decidedly won the championship game by a final score of 11-2.

Midway through the summer season, the win is a highlight for the Crush team who officially opened their summer baseball season with a second place tournament finish in the Badger Bash in Tri-Cities over the Memorial Day weekend.

The team followed-up with another runner-up finish in Renton just weeks ago. Both second place finishes were heart-breaking, one-run defeats. But, the team can now smile, hoping to stick to their winning ways as they continue their season with two tournaments to play including the Tournament at Mt. Si scheduled for August 6-8 at Centennial Field.

Snoqualmie Crush baseball is run by a growing group of volunteer baseball enthusiasts with a love for the game and a desire to expand and to promote youth baseball in the Snoqualmie Valley. Crush coaches all share the same mission – to provide a fun and rewarding environment for boys to learn and to develop the fundamentals of baseball, build lasting friendships, expand social networks, and build character through competition. Teams include 12U, 11U and 10U. The program has also expanded this year to include a girl’s softball team, the Crushettes.
