The Mount Si Wildcats defeated Gonzaga Prep 69-58 on Feb. 26, their final stop before the 4A state tournament.
After leading by just three points at halftime, the Wildcats began to pull away from the Bullpups in the third quarter, out scoring them 12-8.
The Wildcats were led by senior point guard Bennett O’Connor, who scored 18 points and was perfect in his three attempts from beyond the arc. O’Connor also added 6 rebounds and 6 assists.
Wildcat junior forward Miles Heide contributed a double-double performance, with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
With the victory, the top-seeded Wildcats will get a bye to the state quarter-final on March 3 at the Tacoma Dome. They will play the winner of a March 2 match-up between the Graham-Kapowsin Eagles and Davis Pirates.
