Little Si Links is coming to Mount Si Golf Course.
The new youth- and beginner-oriented layout, to open May 1, features a nine-hole, par-three golf course, a large grass teeing area and a pitching green.
We felt that there was a need for a facility like this to be open to the public, to promote and make the game more accessible for everyone to enjoy.
Statistics have shown that, over the last 15 years, the number of golfers has not grown, because golf can be too expensive, most courses are difficult to play for the beginner or junior golfer, and it takes too long to play a round of golf.
Mount Si Golf Course has been a recognized leader in the area of junior golf for many years and is also working hard to expose the game to as many people as possible, in hopes of changing the statistics. We want to grow the game of golf.
The land that will be used for Little Si Links is land that has been maintained and used for the last 25 years as a practice area, for golf lessons and as the location for all of the junior golf programs held at the course.
Holes will vary in length from 50 yards to 80 yards. It will be located on the opposite end of the driving range or on the right hand side of the number-two hole.
One end of the driving range will remain near the driving range mats, and practice at the Little Si Links end will be off the grass. A large pitching green for people who want to practice their short game will be located next to the large grass teeing area.
The objective of Little Si Links is to provide an affordable, fun and friendly atmosphere, making the game accessible for anyone that wants to play. Families, juniors and those wanting to improve their short games will be the primary target market.
Tee times will be on a first come, first served basis. Birthday parties and special events will also be promoted, offering the ability to rent Little Si Links by the hour. Mount Si Golf Course Restaurant will also be available to cater and provide all of the food and beverage requirements for special events. To reserve the course, call (425) 391-4926.
Lessons can be set up directly by calling the pro shop or by visiting www.mtsigolf.com.
I am looking forward to seeing you at the golf course this season. It will be the best one yet at Mount Si Golf Course.
