This summer, The First Tee of Greater Seattle will begin a partnership with Blue Heron Golf Course in Carnation to offer its golf and life skills education to young people.
The First Tee of Greater Seattle is a nonprofit dedicated to teaching young people key life skills, core values, and healthy habits through the game of golf.
“We are excited to host classes at Blue Heron this summer,” said The First Tee’s Program Director, Evan Johnsen. “Not only is Blue Heron an ideal facility with its grass driving range and practice area, as well as the 18-hole course, but we are also able to offer golf and life skill education in the Snoqualmie Valley for the first time.”
Classes will meet weekly on Saturdays beginning June 25 and running through Aug. 13.
Register online at www.thefirstteeseattle.org on or after May 17.
The First Tee of Greater Seattle is open to all young people age 5 to 17 years old and is committed to making sure financial hardships do not serve as barrier to participation. The program offers sliding scale membership fees and scholarships are available to families in need.
Blue Heron will join six other golf facilities in King County offering The First Tee classes. The First Tee of Greater Seattle serves more than 1,700 young people annually at area golf facilities and more than 83,000 students in partnership with local elementary schools.
